Introduction
Navigating SCScan efficiently is key to enhancing productivity and managing document scanning tasks effectively. To aid users in achieving greater efficiency, SCScan incorporates a range of keyboard shortcuts and hotkeys designed to streamline common operations. These shortcuts enable users to execute actions quickly without relying solely on mouse inputs. Below is an extensive list of commonly used SCScan shortcuts and hotkeys, which cover everything from initiating new scans to adjusting document views and managing index values. Familiarizing oneself with these shortcuts can significantly reduce the time spent on routine tasks, leading to a smoother workflow and greater overall efficiency in document management.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Below is a list of commonly used SCSCan shortcuts & hotkeys that you may find useful:
Pressing “N” Key - Scans new pages by creating a New Document/Folder – Same as clicking “New Folder.”
Pressing “C” Key – Scans new pages into the selected highlight – Same as clicking “Continue Scanning.”
Pressing “S” Key - Brings up Scanner Settings.
When in the Thumbnail Pane, the following combinations of Hot Keys allow you to manipulate and move through documents more efficiently:
Ctrl + Page down - Rotates image clockwise
Ctrl + Page up - Rotates image counter-clockwise
Up Arrow, Down Arrow, Left Arrow, Right Arrow – Moves throughout thumbnail images in any direction
Ctrl + Up Arrow - Moves view to the previous document
Ctrl + Down Arrow – Moves view to next document
Ctrl + DEL - Deletes highlighted image
Ctrl + S - Splits document at current page
Ctrl + B – Removes border
Ctrl + D – De-skews
Ctrl + “+” Key – Opens all documents in the thumbnail pane
Ctrl + “-“ Key – Closes all documents in the thumbnail pane
Pressing "+" Key on the number pad Zooms the image in
Pressing "-" Key on the number pad Zooms the image out
When in Index Mode, the following Hot Keys will help with more efficient indexing:
F8 - Repeats index value (from the previous document) for the current field
F9 - Repeats all index values (from the previous document) for the current document
