Introduction

In order to maintain secure and effective operation within the SCScan module, it is crucial that any changes made to passwords in associated systems like MySCView and USAS are also updated in SCScan. This synchronization ensures that users can continue to index and manage batches without interruption.

A. Problem Statement

When passwords are updated in MySCView or USAS, users often face connectivity issues within SCScan due to mismatched credentials. Failure to update the corresponding passwords in SCScan results in error messages during indexing, impacting productivity and data processing workflows.

B. Solution

To resolve these connectivity issues and avoid disruptions in service, it is necessary to promptly update the SCScan module with the new passwords whenever changes are made in MySCView or USAS. This can be done by accessing the Batch Manager, editing client profiles, and saving the new password details under the appropriate credentials section.

If you change your password in MySCView, you will need to update it in SCScan as well to match your new MySCView password.

Likewise, if you change your USAS password in USAS, you will need to update it in SCScan as well to match your new USAS password.

NOTE: In both of the above situations, you will not be able to properly connect
if either passwords are not up-to-date. You will receive an error message when indexing.

  • Verification: After updating passwords, verify by attempting to connect or perform a task within SCScan to ensure that the update was successful.
  • Security: Use strong, unique passwords for each system and change them regularly to enhance security.

D. Troubleshooting

Connectivity Issues Post-Update: If you continue to receive error messages after updating your password:

  • Re-check the entered password for any typing errors.
  • Clear the cache or restart the SCScan application to ensure that all settings are refreshed.
  • If the issue persists, consult the IT support team to verify if there are any server or network issues affecting connectivity.
