Sometimes after an image(s) are scanned, they need to be manipulated in some way. This guide will provide the different ways to manipulate the image or holding document folder.
With the exception of one selection, all image manipulation is done within SCScan. This means you cannot copy an image or document and use this function to paste outside of the application, etc..
Document Manipulation
Copy Document - Copies the selected document and all images inside of the document. Used in conjunction with the Paste Document options.
Paste Document After - This option is only available after a document is copied. Pastes the entire document and all images after the currently selected document (right-clicking a document header counts as a selection).
Paste Document Before - This option is only available after a document is copied. Pastes the entire document and all images before the currently selected document (right-clicking a document header counts as a selection).
Delete Document - Use this to delete a document and all associated images. This MUST be used on a document that has no associated images otherwise it will fail the indexing test before it is uploaded to SCView.
Append pages to this document - If there are pages loaded in the scanner, you can use this option to scan the pages into the selected document.
Save Document As - This gives the option to save the selected document and all images into a single PDF file. You can use this to scan documents not related to SCView and still save them as a PDF. You can then delete the document if you do not want it to be uploaded to SCView.
Image Manipulation via Thumbnail
There are two different ways to manipulate an individual image. The first is by a right-click context menu from the actual image. The other is by the image buttons on the toolbar ribbon.
Thumbnail
Cut Page- Cuts the selected page. Used in conjunction with the Paste Page options. Once pasted, the original copy will be deleted.
Copy Page- Copies the selected page. Used in conjunction with the Paste Page options.
Paste Page (Before/After) - This option is only available after a document is cut or copied. Pastes the image before/after the currently selected document (right-clicking an image counts as a selection).
Rescan Page - Will pull the first page loaded into the scanner and replace the selected image with the newly scanned image
Delete Page- Use this to delete an image.
Insert Pages - If there are pages loaded in the scanner, you can use this option to scan the pages into a new document.
Append Pages - If there are pages loaded in the scanner, you can use this option to scan the pages into the selected document.
Split Document - To use this feature, at least two images must be in the current document. This will take the selected image and all images after and move them into a new document. This means if there are 5 pages and this is used on the 3rd page, pages 3, 4, and 5 will all be in their own new document and pages 1 and 2 will be alone in the original.
Merge Document - Deprecated.
