Introduction
As a former feature of the SCView Forms Campaign and Onboarding modules, users were able to delete a form from a form group. However, this often led to unforeseen issues. To address this, we have implemented a solution. You can no longer permanently delete a form from the Form Group Manager page. Instead, you will only be able to "faux delete" the form, ensuring that all existing forms continue to function properly.
A. Problem Statement
In the SCView Forms Campaign and Onboarding modules, users previously had the ability to delete forms from form groups. This capability, however, resulted in unforeseen issues that compromised the functionality of existing forms. The deletion of forms disrupted workflows and caused operational difficulties for users, highlighting a need for a more stable approach to form management within the module.
B. Solution
To mitigate the problems associated with permanently deleting forms, we have implemented a solution that replaces the permanent delete function with a "faux delete" option. This change prevents users from unintentionally disrupting existing forms, ensuring the continued functionality and integrity of the form groups. The faux-delete feature effectively addresses the challenges posed by the previous system, offering a more reliable and user-friendly management experience.
Step 1: Option 1 to delete a form
To remove a form from a form group, simply click the X icon located in the corresponding row of that form within the form group.
Step 2: Option 2 to delete a form
Alternatively, you can remove a form by right-clicking on it within the tree view and selecting the Delete option from the context menu.
Note: You are able to view the faux deleted form under Admin > Auditing.
C. Best Practices
- Familiarize yourself with both methods of faux deletion:
- Clicking the X icon in the corresponding row.
- Using the right-click context menu in the tree view.
- These methods enhance your ability to manage forms efficiently and effectively.
D. Troubleshooting
- Verify that the form was correctly marked as faux deleted and that the action was not mistakenly reverted.
- Check system logs or notifications for potential errors during the deletion process.
- If the problem persists:
- Consult the software documentation for further guidance.
- Contact Support for assistance, providing details of the issue and any relevant system information.
