Introduction
The SCView stamp feature is a crucial tool for document management, allowing users to mark documents within the SCView system as approved or verified. This feature facilitates the official acknowledgement of documents directly from the workflow or search interface, providing a seamless experience in handling document approvals or reviews.
A. Problem Statement
A common issue users encounter with the SCView stamp tool arises when the stamp and flame icons are not visible on their toolbars in both the Workflow and Search tabs. This typically indicates that the user’s profile lacks the necessary permissions to use the stamp feature, which can hinder the document management process, potentially delaying approvals and other critical workflow steps.
B. Solution
To resolve issues related to the absence of stamping capabilities, it is essential for users who require these features to have their user profiles updated to include stamp permissions. This involves contacting SCView support to enable these features in their profile, which will allow the placement and permanent application (burning) of stamps on documents.
1 - In the Workflow
In the lower-right corner of the workflow where the document image appears, there is an image toolbar. On the toolbar, there should be both a stamp (1) and flame (2) icon. If these are not present, it means your user profile does not have a stamp. If you believe you should have a stamp, please contact support at support@scview.com.
- When you are ready to place your stamp, simply click the stamp (1) icon. It will place the stamp near the middle of the image. You can then drag it around and resize it until it is where you would like the permanent location to be. If you wish to remove the stamp prior to burning, you can right-click and select delete.
- Once in the proper position, click the flame (2) icon, which will make the stamp permanently part of the image. The flame icon will not light up until there is a stamp on the image.

2 - Search Tab
Across the top toolbar of the search page, you will see a similar toolbar to that of the workflow. Again, if you do not have a stamp in your user profile, you will not see the icons.
- Once you have your image pulled up, simply click the stamp (1) icon.

C. Best Practices
- Check User Permissions: Regularly review and update user permissions to ensure that all individuals who need stamping capabilities have access to these features.
- Training on Tool Usage: Provide comprehensive training on how to use the stamp tool effectively, including how to place, adjust, and permanently set the stamp on documents.
- Regular Updates and Maintenance: Keep the software up-to-date to ensure that all features, including stamp and flame icons, function correctly.
- Document Handling Policies: Establish clear guidelines on how and when to use the stamp tool to maintain consistency in document processing.
- Immediate Removal of Unnecessary Stamps: Teach users to promptly remove unwanted or mistakenly placed stamps before burning them onto the document to avoid permanent errors.
D. Troubleshooting
- Missing Stamp and Flame Icons: If the icons are missing, the user should first check if their profile is supposed to have stamp permissions. If these permissions are needed but missing, contact SCView support at support@scview.com for assistance.
- Stamp Not Burning: If the flame icon does not activate after placing the stamp, ensure that the stamp is correctly placed on the document. If issues persist, there may be a need to refresh the session or verify the system’s operational status.
